What is the Importance of

Taking Regents?
According to the NYC Board of regents and blue engine.org regents are
good to take. These regents will help students all over the country get into
their desired college or university. There are only a limited amount of
regents a student in any high school has to take in order to pass high
school and get into high school. So are Regents good to take?
Regents are good to take because of all the possibilities you will have after you
graduate high school. When a student takes a regent, that student knows that they have
mastered this topic and is ready to take this regent. These Regents Primarily focus on
how well you have mastered a topic.
These topics can be algebra 1 or 2 and Geometry, English, Global history and
Geography. There are many regents you could take in order to just pass high school
and get onto college, but you only need at least 5 regents in order to get into colleges or
universities.
According to Cuny. edu college admissions site Cuny says that Regents are one of the
main things that you need to take in order to move on with your life. They say that also
with Regent's you get to have more and more possibilities of what College a student in
high school can get into if that person takes any of these regents. Even though you
have to get a 75 or higher on Regents to get into a good college you still could choose
to take whatever regents you feel confident on.
Even though Cuny. edu explains what kinds of regents you could take and what score
you should get on them, Blue engine.org explains how Regents are like. According to
Kevin Jeng, Kevin says The importance of the regents, however, doesnt just lie in the
fact that it is needed to graduate high school; in fact it goes well beyond that time frame
and into a students college years. He means that Regents is not only something that
you need in order to graduate high school, but also what you need when you graduate
high school, finish high school, and all the years that is to come.

Kevin Jeng also says In order for my students to avoid taking remediation courses in
most New York City community colleges, they need to get a 80 or higher on the math
regents. If they dont reach a 80, they know that upon enrolling in college, they will have
to take remediation courses for Algebra in addition to earning credits from taking actual
college courses. If you take all your regents with very good grades you wont struggle
in college with more work to do as well as when you are taking actual college courses.
We have interviewed a sheepshead bay high school student that is about to graduate
high school this 2014-2015 year. Mahmudjon Mardonov tells us how regents are like.
He says that regents are very easy to take. Some regents that he has taken was
Algebra both 1 and 2, Global History, Earth Science, and living Environment, but right
now he is going to take the English Regents.
Mahmudjon tells me how you should prepare for regents. I always studied and studied
with the help of my teachers. He also tells me every single day that you should keep
on working hard to prepare and what are you doing in this preparation. Taking Regents
is not that hard, but when you do take regents you feel scared like what is all this, but
when you are taking regents you have to always feel confident and try to do your best
is said by Mahmudjon Mardonov.
An Origins high school student named Azim Sharipov was interviewed and he tells us
how he feels about regents. He tells us that Regents are really tough to take but it is
worth it to get into good colleges. He says that that If you do get good grades on any
regents you take you get into a college, but if you have a regent that has bad grades
you could still take it over again. He explained how that if you get a bad grade on any
regents you could still retake that regents again. You will also know how it is like to take
that kind of regents when you take it again.
Azim Sharipov told me that The best thing about taking regents is by you gaining more
knowledge. Also these regents you take challenge you, such as determining your
knowledge on a specific topic. said by Azim Sharipov. He lets us know the importance
of taking regents.
Azim Sharipov has taken a few regents over the past couple of years such as
Geometry, Earth science, and Algebra 1. He knows what it is like to take a regent and
he also knows how to prepare for them. In order to take a regent, or when I have taken
a regent I have gone over past work that is related to the regent, and my teachers
usually give me old regents to practice. said by Azim. This is a way that he had
practiced for regents and these ways are easy ways to prepare for regents and to do in
your spare time.

Azim had told us how you could prepare for regents but I have also interviewed a OHS
Science teacher named Ms. Cavallo. Ms. Cavallo tells us how her students prepare for
regents exams and how she helps them prepare for it.
Another Interview was done on an Origins High School science teacher named ms.
Cavallo. She talks about how students prepare for regents. She says that I research
topics on the regents and these topics focus on their reading skills. I have also asked
her if she has a specific method of teaching. She had said students do independent
work that is relevant to the regents and then the students have a discussion based on
the questions.

Regents are Important to take in order to graduate High School and in order to get into
a good college. Students all around the nation know why regents are important to
prepare for. The Students get help from teachers no matter which subject they are going
to take. Regents test your ability to know what a topic is about.
