But how do you make the

Integrated I:
Constructions unit

Make geometric constructions.

Make formal geometric constructions with a variety of
tools and methods (compass and straightedge, string,
reflective devices, paper folding, dynamic geometric
software, etc.). Copying a segment; copying an angle;
bisecting a segment; bisecting an angle; constructing
perpendicular lines, including the perpendicular bisector
of a line segment; and constructing a line parallel to a
given line through a point not on the line.
Construct an equilateral triangle, a square, and a
regular hexagon inscribed in a circle.

Who can draw the best Equilateral Triangle?

Shea (who is conveniently not here) will buy
the winner a cookie

Rules:
1.Sides should be as close to 4 cm as possible.
2.You can not use a ruler for this attempt.
3.You cannot trace, just do it freehand

Brainstorm
How can we find out who won ?
What methods would we use to
judge?

What kind of Cookie

do you want Shea
to buy you?

equal to 4 cm?

Once you are

done cut out
your equilateral
triangle.

In groups of six, create a

geometrical shape that is a
composite of all of your
equilateral triangles.

"Yaaaa!
Blahabaa"

No right or wrong answer,

but did anyone get this?

How can you use what you

have learned so far to
CONSTRUCT a hexagon
inscribed in a circle with just
a compass and a ruler?

Check out this link

Lets use ICLEAR to reflect

on what we have learned!!
