Objective
To obtain a leadership position in a large, diverse school district. To positively affect teaching and
learning to all students in a large school system. To integrate technology appropriately with learning
and increase collaboration among teachers in a grade level as well as within a vertically aligned
curriculum.
Experience
Des Moines Public Schools

Harding Middle School: 8 grade math, 6 grade science. During my years at Harding, I made positive
relationships with students and helped to raise test scores in my grade level contents. I participated
in the Building Leadership Team working on the master schedule, staffing allocations, and creating
and presenting professional development to staff. I helped lead my grade level and subject area PLCs
and worked collaboratively to create lessons using the gradual release framework.
Ankeny Community School District
Substitute teacher: Ankeny High School, Northview Middle School, Parkview Middle School. In Ankeny,
I substituted in math, science, language arts, health, and talented and gifted classes. I experienced
different classroom management and building management strategies while teaching multiple grade
levels and contents.
Johnston Community School District
Substitute teacher: Johnston High School, Johnston Middle School, Summit Middle School. In Johnston,
I substituted in math, science, music, and art classes. I experienced technology integration, subject
integration, and participated in supervision duties.
Hy-Vee
Bakery Associate: Owatonna, MN, Windsor Heights, IA. At Hy-Vee I was a valued member of my
department. I showed organization and creativity as a cake decorator. I communicated effectively
with customers, and I took on leadership roles such as training and mentoring new employees.
Education
Drake University
Bachelors of Science in Education, Secondary Education. Obtained endorsements in All Science 9-12,
All Science 5-8, and Middle School Generalist. Completed practicums in Southeast Polk, West Des
Moines, Ankeny, Des Moines, and student taught in Ankeny.
