Lack of trust on both sides — Iving
Example:
Opt day situation
[At the beginning of the year we were told we would follow the MDCPS calendar. That
gives teachers the ability to choose their opt days if they worked them prior to school
starting. Then he “dictated” those days, but not clearly. So some people took them, some
did not.
Since he planned a PD on good Friday, he then said everyone had to come since they had
used their opt days. Pat G. verbally contested it; he chastised her, including the way she
approached him. Also told Pat he knew she was one of the teachers bad-mouthing him in
the community, and talking to board members in the parking lot. Pat said she doesn’t
‘want to meet with him alone again.
Anne sent him emails quoting the rules, and then he backed down.
But his email did say “4/1 is NOT an opt day.” That is not what he told the personnel
committee this week.
Example: Promised Francis (according to Francis) the APC job. She is now leaving.
Example: at the beginning of the year, told personnel committee that paras are bringing
home grading, Stated that Darcy brought home Gispert’s. This is false.
This is now true of Serra-Jovenich, but he was surprised that she was grading papers.
‘Who did he think was grading them?

‘Annis — she requested the day off on 4/30, which is an early release day, to take her baby
to aneye specialist. She chose that day because there is no testing so it would impact us.
the least as far as sub coverage.
He told her he will grant it, but he is putting a note in her file. This is because she is
missing the PD that afternoon (and she missed the one on the contested Opt Day, which
‘was the first part of it)
Paunovska ~ gives her a hard time, then always mentioning her immigration situation.
