state tennis tournament.
After a first round BYE,
Johnson defeated Plymouth
junior Matt Primozic in the
second round 6-3, 6-7 (4), 64. In the semi-finals Johnson
fell to The Prairie Schools
sophomore Juan Perez, 6-4,
6-3. Johnson then won the
third place match against
Edgewood Sacred Heart
sophomore Cecil Lingard, 76 (5), 6-4.

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin


(GCAW) is pleased to announce
that
Charlie
Twohig, Amanda Egbert,
Sam Kohler, Andrew
Bryce, and Brady Stefanczyk of Kohler High
School are Academic AllState honorees for the boys
golf season.
Students are submitted
by GCAW member coaches
if they meet the following
criteria: 1) A cumulative
grade point average of at
least 3.25, 2) participation
in at least 75% of their

teams varsity matches, and


3) are at least a sophomore
in high school.
Charlie, Amanda, Sam,
Andrew and Brady are student-athletes who serve as
great examples to others,
proving that academic and
athletic successes are not
mutually exclusive.
The coaches association
is proud to announce a
record 365 boys from 126
high schools have been
honored this year for maintaining high academic standards in the classroom
while competing in varsity

golf. In fact, the average


cumulative GPA of this
years honorees is an exceptional 3.720.
The GCAW was formed
by high school golf coaches
in 1986 to help build Wisconsin's reputation for developing quality junior
players by promoting golf
in our schools and communities. Besides honoring
both boys and girls who
succeed as student athletes,
the association also selects
an annual All-State team
for boys and girls based on
their playing ability.

Lakers hockey team


takes first in tourney
The Sheboygan Lakers
Squirt 3B hockey team took
first place in the Milk &
Cookie Classic Squirt B
Hockey Tournament hosted
in Janesville after beating
three teams and going undefeated in four games.
The Lakers faced the
Janesville J-Hawks in the
first game, winning 4-1.
Will Johnson, Teague Pilgrim, and Dylan Videtic secured goals, Jacob Fox
contributed with two assists.
In their second contest the
Lakers defeated the Beloit
Blades 6-2. Dylan Videtic
and Owen Hayon led with
two goals each, along with

Jacob Fox and Drake Moberg


each adding a goal.
The Lakers faced the
Stoughon Vikings in the third
game, defeating them 10-0.
Scoring effort led by Jacob
Fox with a hat trick, additional goals by Owen Hayon,
Will Johnson, Drake Moberg,
Teague Pilgrim, and Dylan
Videtic.
Defensemen Noah Fibiger
and Austin Schuh also contributed with goals. Teague
Pilgrim recorded his 50th
goal of the season in the third
period.
The victory qualified the
Lakers to enter the championship game. This featured a

rematch against the host


team, Janesville. In a much
closer game, the Lakers managed to hold onto the lead
and take the tournament with
the teams fourth straight victory that weekend, 4-3.
Teague Pilgrim lead the Lakers in scoring in the championship game with two goals.
Owen Hayon and Will Johnson each added goals to complete the scoring efforts.
The Lakers received individual awards during the
tournament including goalie
Bennett Waara, who earned a
Shut-out Award and Jacob
Fox, who earned a Hat Trick
Award.

A sensational summer is set at Destination Kohler as the resort hosts a unique


sampling of summer-themed special
events and experiences. First time offerings include the Summer Demonstration
Kitchen Series and the Sounds of Summer A Boutique Concert Series hosted

Kitchen Series
For the first time, Destination Kohler
hosts a Summer Demonstration Kitchen
Series featuring seasonal-themed recipes
and beverage pairings suited for al fresco
dining and entertaining. The series features six sessions with culinary topics
ranging from grilling and barbequing to
salsas and ceviches, presented by the
restaurant chefs of Destination Kohler.
Each session is hosted at The Shops at
Woodlakes Demonstration Kitchen a

working kitchen that provides an intimate,


informal setting bringing together professional chefs and enthusiastic foodies
for presentations, preparation and tasting. Sessions are scheduled on Saturdays from June 6 to July 18 (excluding
July 4) with one-hour presentations at
11am and 2pm. All sessions include food
tastings, a beverage pairing and recipes

Sounds of Summer A Boutique Concert Series
Music will fill the air along the shore of
Wood Lake during the Sounds of Summer A Boutique Concert Series. Every

the open air Waterfront Rotunda at The

golfers will compete for the coveted Wanamaker Trophy this August as the PGA
Championship makes its third visit to
Whistling Straits. Weekly tickets sold-out
last year, with ticket purchasers from all 50
states and 28 countries. However, a limited
number of daily tickets remain available for
purchase. Of note, Championship-round
(Thursday-Sunday) daily tickets are predicted to sell-out well in advance of this
Major Championship, so fans are encouraged to act quickly to secure their spot.
