This week in FLK..

We were surrounded by Kindergarten Graduates

We celebrated Avas 6th Birthday!

Happy Birthday Ava!

In Language: We reviewed how to print the lower case letters.
We reviewed our reading, writing skills and some sight words in Miss Evans morning
message.
In the Surprise Bag this week, Lauren brought her monkey (and her blankie and her
Lamb of God!), Deborah brought 2 bunnies and Sohee brought the Pegasus,
Princess Cadence. .

Gym: We used the website GONOODLE to incorporate the get off the couch
message we learned in POWER TO PLAY. On Friday, we headed back out on the
climber and rode the bikes.
Religion: We enjoyed traces of God in the summer weather, and in our friends. As
altercations arose, we discussed Chris Hadfields advice to Become the person you
want to be. What would Chris Hadfield expect you to do right now?
Science: We began a new program called POWER TO PLAY. This program teaches
the importance of good nutrition and exercise habits. Super Heroes, Coco Lait and
Brock Lee, accept missions from THE BIG CHEESE to teach important lessons.
In Art: Miss Evans completed a SECRET project with the children (ahem!) and had
the children paint like Michael Angelolaying on their backs and painting on the
under side of the tables! It was a hit!!!
In Music, Drama and Dance: We all practiced for the 2nd Years Growing
Ceremony and used GO NOODLE. Miss Evans also introduced Tony Chestnut. This
is a great action song to demonstrate that everyone has strengths and weaknesses
and that thats okay. Mrs. Hickey is NOT able to do Tony Chestnut .at all!
In Mathematics: We continued a general review.
In Personal and Social Development: As many of the events this week were
TOTALLY out of routine, we worked on staying flexible and co-operative. Many of
us are sensing a change coming and we have been reacting.
In Inquiry/Directed Play: Miss Evans introduced Michael Angelo and showed them
the ceiling of the Cistine chapel. The kids discovered how he actually painted. And
were THRILLED when Miss Evans had them paint the same way!!!
