Ambulansiyang de Paa
The Ambulansiyang de Paa is a documentary video hosted by Kara David last 2010 on
I-witness, one of the programs in GMA Network. The episode shows the suffering and sacrifices
of the individuals in the community of Apnagan in Mindoro. The area of Apnagan was far from
civilization for the reason that roads were not present. As a result, individuals cant retrieve their
basic wants and needs. They cant obtain education. Therefore, they cant look for jobs to
sustain their needs. Thus, being unemployed will make them suffer and will face different
problems in their life. Additionally, they cant simply acquire healthy foods because they dont
have money to buy and they are far away from the market. They eat unhealthy foods like rats and
saba. Given the unhealthy diet of the people, they experience medical conditions that are easily
cured if there are health centers nearby. Because they dont have such, this people experience this
medical condition for years, even until death. Because of their serious condition, many other
problems will arise. The people dont have any choice but to just bare the pain. For the reason
that it is the only option they have given their lack of money, hospital, etc.
In line with this, as I watched the video Ive realized that how blessed I am of having
what I have right know. Im so fortunate that I have an access on education, hospitals, malls,
supermarket and the likes. I have foods that were healthy and it makes me satisfied after eating. I
also realized that there still individuals like them, living like that. Also, I conclude that education
is important to us in order to live on a happy life. Moreover, I was awakened to the truth that we
must give importance on what we have and share it to those people who are in need.
I wish that the government must pay attention to those remote areas in the Philippines
and help them. They must provide budget to nourish the life of poor Filipino families.
Furthermore, government must allocate the money for different aspects like roads, education,
foods, and hospitals. Even though governments pay attention to these aspects they are also
obliged to double their actions to become fully absolute. Moreover, they must provide health
centers with doctors and nurses, schools and feeding programs for those far flung areas in the
Philippines.
