111.4. Grade 2, Adopted 2012. Sec (4) The primary focal areas in Grade 2 are making
comparisons within the base-10 place value system, solving problems with addition and
subtraction within 1,000, and building foundations for multiplication. (c) Students use
the relationship between skip counting and equal groups of objects to represent the
addition or subtraction of equivalent sets, which builds a strong foundation for
multiplication and division.
Objective/Purpose: To teach the basic operation and find the least common
multiple by, increasing multiplication facts and matching skills. The least
common multiple is the least whole number that is a multiple of each of two
or more numbers.
Introduce Lesson: Their daily Warm Up exercise, practicing multiplication
facts. Their 2s, 4s, 6s, 7s & 9s listing the multiples to times 12x.
Ex. 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24
Example: (2,6) list multiples of 2 and multiples of 6 on the board and match
the least common multiple ,circle matching numbers in each list in different
color marker to highlight the LCM
Ex#2 (3, 5) with this example get children to out loud list the multiples and
let a student circle the LCM on the board .

ACTIVITY
Ex.s #3 write on the board (4, 6);(2,7);(6,9);(8,11);(3,2);(5,6)[ bonus *(12,8)]
now let them do it on their own with a color pencil to circle the LCM .

Re-Teach: (revert to the warm up and use examples (1, 3) ;( 2, 3) easier problems and break
it down on the board step by step allow the student to implement what you do ,and ask them why
for every step. And when finished with work sheet activity, they can do practices on this website
