schoolboys, Akram tells PCB Former Pakistani cricket captain Wasim Akram has again taken an aim at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by slamming on the fact that national players should not be treated like schoolboys by putting immense disciplinary measures on them. Akram who spoke at the launch of Wasim Akram Foundation in Karachi said that the constant change in policies have stunted the development of the players. Discipline is one thing but too much stress on it can also lead to some players losing confidence because of it, Akram claimed. According to the 49-year-old, who works as a commentator and teaches the Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders, hence he also said that it was vital for young Pakistani players to interact with other international players and they should be given some sort of freedom to explore and learn as they are not kids but mature players. This even causes a lack in confidence in players hence this affects the performance on the field. As the player performs well on the field is how the player becomes a superstar which further evolves into a brand and that will increase the value of Pakistan cricket. There were many past and current Pakistan cricket players were present at the launch of the foundation which includes Shoaib Akhter and many others. However, as discipline have been a major problem in Pakistan cricket team and due to that reason Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal were sidelined for few matches. The fielding coach of Pakistan, Grant Luden threatened to resign because of misconduct and rude attitude shown by the players.
