South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA)

SACA is an intervention programme designed to tackle the inequalities highlighted

by research regarding the lack of British South Asian (BSA) representation in
professional cricket. It is a short-medium term strategy to support BSA players and
coaches whose career cycles does not allow them to wait for systemic changes in the
game.

To achieve its goal of increasing BSA representation within the professional game,
SACA will act upon research to provide a bespoke cricket programme for a squad of
BSA male cricketers aged 18+. SACA aims to disband its cricket programmes within 3
to 6 years (2028), with the intention that changes to the game nationally shall render
it unnecessary.

Cricket Scotland (CS)

Cricket Scotland is the governing body for the game at both performance and
participation levels throughout Scotland. Our vision is to inspire Scotland to choose
cricket and we do that by supporting the different forms of the game within
communities, schools and at over 130 clubs throughout the country.

Cricket has always had a reputation as a diverse and inclusive sport and building on
this is a key area of focus for Cricket Scotland. We welcome applications from people
of all backgrounds and communities to ensure that Cricket Scotland best represents
those who are passionate about the game.

We particularly encourage applications from disabled people and those from

ethnically and culturally diverse communities – both of whom are currently under-
represented within Cricket Scotland.
