Participating in this power point presentation gave me to bring awareness to a social

phenomenon, human rights issue, a social problem and it is poverty in America. There are many
suffering from extreme poverty it exists in our communities. Poverty exists in some of our
families or our friends families. Poverty has been an ongoing issue in the United States for
decades now.
This course allowed me to learn about human rights and social justice and express how I
feel polite about our neighbors suffering in poverty. This competency expanded my knowledge
about the meaning below the poverty line. The poverty line that separates individual's status on
rather hey can afford financially to put food on the table daily. Poverty is a serious issue and the
slides are real pictures taken to bring awareness to this very sensitive problem.
This shows us that we have to make changes within our government to ensure children
are eating after they leave schools. We can reach out to the homeless and make food available to
them and a place for them to do self-care. We have to bring attention our human rights and fight
for economic justice. This problem matters our water is a natural resource we should not have to
go without it. We have to advocate for our senior citizens and defend them in their absence that
they should be provided with another meal besides the meals on wheels dinner some receive.
There are many other issues people are suffering from that is a form of poverty.
