PowerSchool Scheduling

Process for the Lower


School

1. Log into PowerSchool


2. Click on PowerScheduler (left hand side of the webpage)

3. Click Courses (left hand side of the webpage)

4. Select a course to set up a section

5. Click Sections

6. Select New

7. Click on the dropdown at the top of the page to select the term for the new
school year. Then click the dropdown menu at the bottom of the page to
select the teacher.
When selecting the expressions please note the following:
A= Monday, B=Tuesday, C=Wednesday, D= Thursday, E= Friday A, F= Friday B,
G=Friday C
In addition when selecting the periods for the expressions start with period 10
(periods 1-9 are for the upper school). The periods are aligned to specific times.
Below are the times for each period:

NOTE: Prior to selecting the expressions, create a master schedule with the
times for advisory, math/science, humanities, lunch, recess, and specials for
each grade level.

8. Click on associate to select a room number for the course. Create a section
number for the course (i.e., 1, 77, 89) also include maximum enrollment for
the course (i.e. 30, 100).

NOTE (this only applies to Homeroom courses): In the Dependent Sections


field for the Homeroom course, enter all the other sections that the
selected students must also be enrolled in (i.e., recess, lunch, specials,
math/science, and humanities). Separate section numbers with a comma. For
example, 1000.51, 9044.2, 5424.1. By enrolling students in one section, the
system will also enroll them in all the sections entered in the Dependent
Sections field.

10. Click submit

11. Click on PowerScheduler then students on the left hand side of the screen
under the resources section.

12. To schedule students in a course for the upcoming school year select a grade
level from the line Next Year Grade Level.

13. On the Selected Students page, select the Select Students By Hand
function.

14. On the Select Students By Hand page, use the CTRL key to select
students, and then click on Functions.

15. At the Student Scheduling Functions page, select Schedule Mass Enroll.

16. On the Mass Enroll page, enter the course and section number (Course.
Section), and then click Submit.

17. On the Mass Enroll Preview Page, click on Enroll Students.
