1. M/S/P (8-0-1) to approve minutes with corrections from December 4, 2009 meeting after
correcting it for members who were absent.

2. Discussion of what constitutes a “Full time” graduate student

The current policy is that graduate students must be enrolled in nine credits of coursework to
be considered full time students. The requirement for half time is five credits, per Louise
Janke who works in the UW-L Financial Aid Department.

There was an extensive discussion of methods use to recognize students enrolled in fewer
credits of coursework (i.e., in their final semester) as full time students.

3. Discussion of Graduate Assistantship Eligibility

M/S/P First reading (9-0-0) – Graduate students on probation may be able to retain their
graduate assistantship at the discretion of the program director. (Wright/Thorman)

4. Travel Grant Request Review

M/S/P (8-0-1) – Approval of request from students in Psychology, with the requirement that
they inform the Graduate Dean how they plan to disseminate the information gained through
their research. (Thorman, Elfessi)

The meeting was adjourned at 11:06 a.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Tom Krueger
