OHS Policy
Occupational Health and Safety Policy
Purpose
To provide and maintain a working environment that is both healthy and safe
through management consultations, inspections, investigations and meetings and to
ensure that the rights of all employees at TROMPIE hereafter referred to as the
Company, are protected with respect to safety, security and the prevention of injury.
Policy Statement
This policy aims to set out guidelines for assessment and continual implementation
of safety and health procedures as outlined by the Occupational Health and Safety
Act, no. 85 of 1993.
Responsibility
The Managing Director and the Health and Safety Manager have the responsibility of
ensuring that all Company employees are employed in an environment and function
that adheres to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, no. 85 of 1993. The
Managing Director and the Health and Safety Manager have the right to assign this
responsibility to an authoritative figure of their choice and will be assisted in their
endeavours by management within the company.
It is every employees duties to ensure that they maintain a high level of safety and
a healthy environment during all work functions. It is also every employees duty to
ensure that their fellow staffs health and safety is taken into account when
engaging in any activity.

employees performing work at a workplace other than that where they ordinarily
report for duty, shall be deemed to be working at the workplace where they so
report for duty.
All activities in connection with the designation, functions and training of health and
safety representatives shall be performed during ordinary working hours, and any
time reasonably spent by any employee in this regard shall for all purposes be
deemed to be time spent by him in the carrying out of his duties as an employee.

A health and safety committee shall hold meetings as often as may be necessary,
but at least once every three months, at a time and place determined by the

A health and safety committee may co-opt one or more persons by reason of his or
their particular knowledge of health or safety matters as an advisory member or as
advisory members of the committee. An advisory member shall not be entitled to
vote on any matter before the committee.
