The Schlumberger DS drillable

production packers are simple, versatile packers designed to provide a
cost-effective solution to production
gravel packing.

Their field-proven design is based

on the Schlumberger DS II gravelpack system and features completely
hydraulic and vertical movement
actuation. No rotation is required. The
packer is hydraulically set by a gravelpack service tool. The DS packer has a
position indicating mechanism that
makes the system ideal for deep, deviated and horizontal wells, and it features a large sealbore for fullbore
completions. The packers have a compact, rugged design that facilitates
run-in, milling and retrieval.
Depending on the size, the packer
is capable of up to 656,000-lbm
[297,506-kg] tailpipe weight. These
packers are available for casing sizes
from 5 to 958 in. [127 mm to 244 mm]
and are fully compatible with all
grades of casing, including P-110.
They are rated to 350F [177C]
and 10,000 psi [690 bar] (6000 psi
[414 bar] with the mandrel plugged).
The DS drillable packer is manufactured from materials that comply with
NACE specification MR0175 for sulfide stress cracking resistant metallic
materials.
