A participle ending in ING is known as a present participle.

Ex: participle: verb + ing


wear+ ing: wearing
sit+ ing: sitting
A participial phrase functions as an adjective phrase. It modifies a noun
Ex: He is the man wearing jeans.
He is the man talking to Liz

Prepositional phrase: Consistsofapreposition,itsobject isusuallyanounorapronoun.


Ex: He is the man in jeans.
He is the boy next to Liz.
