- Unfamiliar vocabulary to enrich their
knowledge

E.g: magnificent, peasants and

- Repetitive and familiar vocabulary will cause
boredom
- Challenge the pupils to guess the meaning of
the unfamiliar words in their first reading
- Teacher can improve the pupils dictionary
skill
- Can be used with visual aids

- Pupils are having difficulties in pronouncing

- Eg: deserts, mountains, China
- Pictures can help pupils in understanding
difficult words.
