    OdinsaidinhisresearchforplacementintheFulbrightprogram,hissearchthroughteachersallledhimbackto
    Auburngraduates,increasinghishopesofattendingAuburnUniversity.
    TheFilipinostudentsaidhethinksapplyingtobeaFulbrightScholaratAuburnwasthebestwayhecouldservehis
    country.
    "Evenbefore,I'vebeenhearingalotaboutAuburnUniversitywhenitcomestofisheriesandagriculture,"Odinsaid.
    "WhenIwasinmyundergradandeveninmymaster's,allthebooks'authorswerefromhere,sothatwashow
    influentialAuburnUniversitywasforme."
    OdinisinhisfirstyearofhisPh.Dprogram,andoverthecourseofthenextfiveyearshesayshelooksforwardto
    auditioningfortheAuburnSingersandworkingtobeabletoservehiscountry.
    Odinworksinthefisheriesprogramalongsidesomeoftheverysametopprofessorsthatinspiredhimtocometo
    AuburnUniversity.
    "He'sbeenhereashorttimesohe'sinaninternationallearningphase,"saidOdin'sadviser,RexDunham."He's
    hardworkingandseemstobeveryfriendly,dedicatedandsettlingintothestudentlifehere.He'salwaysresponsiveand
    seemstoworkwellwithothers."
    Odinsaidafterfinishinghisdegreehewillhavetoreturntoworkforhiscountry.
    "Rightnow,I'mthinkingofcomingupwithaprojectthatwillinvolvemyuniversityinthePhilippinesandAuburn
    andsomehowtheywillconsidermyuniversityasanextension,"Odinsaid."That'soneofmydreamsfromthis."
    OdinidentifiesasaFilipinoMuslim.Mindanao,ortheFoodBasket,iswheremanyofFilipinoMuslimsreside.
    "InthePhilippinesIcomefromaplacethatisdeprivedofopportunities,"Odinsaid."I'mrepresentingasectorthatis
    deprivedofopportunities.It'slikenowthatI'mhere,I'mtryingtorepresentthesepeople,FilipinoMuslims,andto
    fulfilltheirdreams,becauseIknowI'mlivingandfulfillingthedreamsofmyconstituentswhoarenotabletofulfill
    theirs."
