1) Granary Island in Gdansk, Poland was at risk of erosion from the Motława and Dead Vistula Rivers, threatening its wharfs and warehouses.
2) To stabilize the quaysides along the rivers and deepen the waterway, over 1,000 DYWI Drill Hollow Bar Anchors with a total length of nearly 24,000 meters were used as tie backs for new sheet piles.
3) This project secured the future of Granary Island and its importance to Gdansk's growing economy and tourism industry.

DYWI Drill Hollow Bars Secure the Future of
Granary Island in Gdansk
t the junction of the
Motawa River and the Dead Vistula River lies a block of land known as Granary Island, located in the heart of the famous Amber district in downtown Gdansk. Until 1945, Granary Island was an important part of the citys industry with wharfs and warehouses. In the course of time, the island was slowly being lost to the two rivers, which caused both landslides and increasing damage to the quayside. Due to the citys growing economy and tourist industry, it became more and more important to stabilize both quaysides and deepen the waterway along the Motawa River in the Gdask area. To stabilize the quaysides, 1,036 T76-1200 DYWI Drill Hollow Bar Anchors with a total length of 23,930m were chosen as the tie back solution for the new sheet piles.
