Dockery  Responds  to  McCollum’s  Flip-‐Flop  on  RPOF  Matters

ORLANDO  –  Republican  gubernatorial  candidate  Paula  Dockery  made  the  following  comment  in
response  to  Attorney  General  Bill  McCollum  saying  he  now  supports  public  disclosure  of  the
investigation  at  RPOF  headquarters:

“I’m  glad  to  see  Bill  McCollum  finally  agrees  a  public  accounting  is  long  overdue  at  RPOF  headquarters.
Too  many  donors  have  too  many  questions  about  how  big  sums  of  money  have  been  handled.  But
what’s  taken  so  long  for  him  to  see  the  right  thing  to  do?

It’s  not  easy  to  be  the  one  who  calls  for  an  investigation,  especially  when  friends  are  involved.  But  it’s
the  kind  of  backbone  people  expect  in  a  governor  –  someone  who  will  stand  up  for  doing  the  right  thing,
even  when  it’s  unpopular.

I’m  grateful  that  my  call  for  transparency  is  now  supported  by  Gov.  Charlie  Crist,  Senate  President  Jeff
Atwater  and  finally  today,  Bill  McCollum.  And  while  I  congratulate  our  new  party  chairman,  John
Thrasher,  on  his  victory  today,  I  would  encourage  him  to  similarly  heed  the  call  for  a  full  public
accounting.  As  I’ve  said  from  day  one  of  this  campaign  to  be  your  next  governor,  it  is  the  right  thing  to
do.
