Paula Dockery Comments on FDLE Investigation of State Republican Party
LAKELAND
–
Since
November,
Paula
Dockery
has
been
calling
for
the
Republican
Party
of
Florida
to
do
what
is
right
by
our
members
and
contributors
and
disclose
any
records
that
may
cause
questions
about
our
party’s
ability
to
lead
in
these
troubled
times.
Paula’s
call
for
openness
and
honesty
were
ignored
by
the
establishment
in
Tallahassee,
and
now
the
result
could
be
catastrophic
for
the
Grand
Old
Party
that
Paula
has
fought
for
all
her
life.
If
Bill
McCollum
had
shown
some
leadership
and
called
for
the
RPOF
to
come
clean
and
the
records
to
be
released,
this
whole
situation
could
have
been
avoided
or
possibly
past
us
by
now.
Instead,
the
entire
Republican
Party
of
Florida
structure
is
staring
at
a
serious
FDLE
investigation
as
we
move
into
the
closing
months
of
the
most
important
election
in
our
lifetime.
“This
is
a
sad
day
for
Florida
Republicans
and
I
share
in
that
grief
and
concern.
Many
have
been
counting
on
Bill
McCollum
to
be
our
next
leader,
but
how
can
Floridians
trust
Bill
McCollum
when
he
refused
to
question
friends
who
recklessly
spent
other
people’s
money?
It
took
evidence
of
criminal
activity
for
him
to
finally
do
something,”
Dockery
said.
“Leadership
comes
with
responsibility
and
as
a
leader,
not
to
mention
the
state’s
chief
law
enforcement
officer,
Attorney
General
Bill
McCollum
had
the
duty
to
stand
up
against
this
corruption.
Instead
he
looked
the
other
way,
more
interested
in
lining
up
political
support
than
on
doing
the
right
thing,”
she
said.
