His Untold Story!

!
Prologue!
!

All I wanted was to tell the truth. Our lives can never be forever intertwined. I need us to let go.
But not now. Not when what he has is only me.!

Ours is the same as all other love stories. The type where you get butterflies upon knowing that
the fate of the characters is that of the most unexpected nature. The one that begins when one
accidentally hits the other as he/she hurries for a meeting or when you two start as friends until
one realizes the real feelings the moment the other finds the third wheel. Such is a romantic
treatise. We fall under the friendship first category. None of us know what it was that we felt
until we tried to face each others fears and embrace the unspoken truth that lies between us. !

But stories are not salable without an intriguing and usually melodramatic plot twist. Readers
wait for that grasping moment when everything turns upside down and whats left is a series of
tales that demand questions. Will they make it? Will they face the storm with hands tightly held?
Should they just cry and let go? Then comes the action-filled climax where characters begin
letting it all out with readers hoping that all ends in a tearjerking, emotionally-driven, happilyever-after denouement.!

But such is not constant. Truth is, a happy-ever-after may happen in life but not necessarily in
love.!

Take our case for instance. His name is Janus. My name is Roy. We are both men. I love him.
He feels otherwise. And like any other story, ours faces the rather ironically significant conflict.
Only this time, the conflict is not only a necessary plot detail. It is our conflicting reality.!

I.!
!

My life is typical. Having been raised in a province, I grew up to see only a few things. My old
routine was school, house, and church on a Sunday. The only time I would somehow transport
to different worlds was when I would watch all the shows on TV. It was when I began fantasizing
to be a part of a world that I know exist in some other dimension. !

Then, when I decided to enroll Literature as my degree in college, I got to see a wider sight of
that dimension. I saw the many faces of people. I met with different kinds of students. All the
while I thought as I saw on TV that students are dreamers who go to college to take a chance in
life. But truth is, a few of them are like kites who only fly when the season is timely and in spite
of how high it reaches, it still is uncertain of the direction it shall go.!
