Agency Role: Home BirthPartners aims to provide an


at home birth experience that is unique to each mother
and child. They plan to achieve this by focusing on
safety, proper support and respect, as well as
individualized care and a relaxed environment
(Wente, 2015).
Volunteer Role:
Monitor mothers blood pressure
Monitor fetal heart tones
Provide mother with as much comfort as possible

Theory allows nursing to accept the patient
as they are, and provide planning of
unique interventions based on each
individual. Based on this theory, the nurse
is able to facilitate and nurture the patient
in attaining, maintaining, and promoting
health (Modeling, 2015).

The focus of midwifery care is to promote


the natural progression of labor and to
use obstetrical interventions only when needed.
