Museums are places depicting history, ancient civilization and
evolution. I see lot of people visiting museums when they travel to new destination. Apart from travelers, we do see lot of school children taking field trips to museums. The reasons may be many ,but I consider education, entertainment and research to be primary goals of visiting them. First, I would like to focus on education. Schools and colleges have museum visits as field trips. Last week, I chaperoned my son to the Native American Museum inWashington. As the children were learning about the American -Indians they were so excited to have a hands-on experience to see the homes and other artifacts .It also helped them to plan for a stage show on Native Americans at their school. Second, when my aunts came to my niece wedding at Rhode Island, they wanted to find indoor getaway because of the rain. We entered, The Mansion Museum ,that housed the palatial
architecture, furnishings, home dcor and utensils. The visit
was so entertaining that day to see the mansion and take the vintage elevator ride. Third, when I was in my sophomore year I used to visit the Gandhi museums to research about him. I finally submitted a research paper, with most insights I gathered from the museum and from conversations with other Gandhian thought people. Finally, I think museums have continued to be places of Interest for all ages and they also make ourselves to appreciate what we are today in culture, science, art and technology. I hope the posterity too does maintain them and visit them to have their advantages.
