Summary / In the creative process, Duan Mati permanently felt the need to extend the routine forms of expression. In order to achieve stronger aesthetic effects
he often intertwined his essay-like style with a poem, a story, a travel record. This
intertwining was so skillfully and suggestively realized, that occasionally, these forms
are even difficult to distinguish. Hence, the complex forms such as essay-poem,
essay-story, essay-travel record, theoretical experience is not always applied during
the process when a work-being is born, or, as the poet said, each subsequent poem
is created by itself.

Summary / Today we consider Byzantine art rather abstract than naturalistic, so


we expect the confirmation in written sources. One might think that the Byzantine
authors could have been trying to make a difference between their own art and the
Greco-Roman models before them. But that was not the case. Except when it comes
to the topic (one in a pagan and another in Christian art), their aesthetic valuation
of both the kinds of art is the same.
Such an obvious lack of the observation we could try to explain saying that the Byzantines inherited from their antique ancestors all literature modes together with all
the conventions that are, so to speak, built in them. That in itself is an undeniable
truth when it comes to ekphrazis and epigram. Reproduction of the artistic models
and enjoyment of classical authors was regarded as a sign of sheer culture. It is also
true that Byzantine authors never wrote their ekphrazis and epigrams for no reason.
Aesthetic values of Byzantine art and architecture are often elusive. They were influenced, as is confirmed, by philosophy, especially neo-Platonic doctrine, such as
Plotinus (Plotinus). This is supported by the appearance of such a distorted perspective,
radiating compositions, disregard of scale and depth, and more. Anagogical argument
(namely, that images serve to rise our minds to non-material reality), the argument
developed from neo-Platonism through Pseudo-Dionysius writings, appeared indeed
from time to time, but this is the exception rather than the rule. Prevalent learning of
Byzantine authors was that their art is very close to nature. Research of writings on
snakes, serpents, lizards, reptiles, dragons, monsters and beasts, which are presented
in this paper, and their interpretation, confirms the stance.

of the history of the motif of the dead darking in the Serbian poetry, the review of
diverse influences within the poetry itself (the influence of the world literature on the
making of the Serbian literature, unquestionable reflection of the Serbian Romanticism in the poetry of the twentieth century, as well as mutual influence of the poets
of the twentieth century). The text is dedicated to the analysis of the motif of the dead
darling and the ralation of death, love, and poetry in the interwar literature, or more

dans les titres
Rsum / Dans le prsent travail on a soumis lanalyse le contenu des titres de
manuels de FLE publis en Serbie partir des annes 40 du XIXe sicle et ceux
publis en France la fin du XXe et au dbut XXIme sicles.Elle concerne le point de
vue des thories, principes et caractristiques les plus importantes des mthodologies et des orientations mthodologiques ayant domin lenseignement des langues
trangres,depuis la mthode traditionnelle jusqu lapproche actionnelle. Au cours
de plus de cent cinquante ans, les manuels scolaires de franais rdigs en Serbie nont
pas dpass les cadres des titres officiels ou administratifs ce qui veut dire que de
nombreuses gnrations des apprenants portaient dans leurs serviettes La grammaire
du franais, Livre de lecture franaise, Manuel de franais ou Langue franaise(crits en
serbe) destins une certaine anne dapprentissage. Ce nest quau passage de la
mthode SGAV vers lapproche communicative quapparaissent certaines sries de
manuels scolaires dont les titres sloignent du style administratif. Il ne sagit pas
ici seulement de leurs contenus, mais aussi du fait quils ont t crits en franais.
Alors que certaines titres des manuels de franais de lpoque de la mthode SGAV
se caractrisaient dun lexique refltant clairementla priorit de la parole (Parlons
franais, Rflchis et dis-le en franais), ceux de lpoque de la mthode communicative incluent parfois de brefs actes de parole (Bonne chance, les petits!). Cependant,
le dbut du XXIme sicle et lapparition de lapproche actionnelle nont pas encore
trouv leurs rponses dans les titres de nouvelles ditions des manuels scolaires dont
le contenu rappelle plutt des notions mises en relief dans la mthode SGAV. Quant
aux manuels de FLE modernes publis en France, il sagit dun vrai panuissement des
notions figurant dans les titres qui peuvent tre classifis par groupes, trs cratifs
et qui suivent les pas de lapproche actionnelle.

Summary / This paper presents the inventory of verbs of two aspects in recent dictionaries of Serbian language. Because the literature often resorts to generalization
and thus verbs of foreign origin tend to believe as verbes of two aspects, on the other
hand a significant number of verbes of domestic origin are not mentioned, the work
aims to highlight the problem of verbs of two aspects as more complex than usually
treated. Featured are verbs that were suitable for analysis and further analyzed based
on the examples cited in the normative dictionaries.

Nina Markovi / Oral tradition and folk belief in the cycles of Vasko Popas poems

Summary / The main purpose of this paper is noticing and analyzing Popas poetical
pictures that shed completely new light on our oral tradition. In his metaphors and his
symbols we could notice the presence of oral tradition about St. Sava as well as many
layers of different systems of the folklore beliefs and folklore tradition. Interpreting
the symbols such as water, rainbow, wolf, rooster, chains, stick, rock, bees etc., Popa
has accomplished an extraordinary artistic transposition and modification of the
folklore templates by using the myth reflection, in other words, he has been using
the beliefs about St. Sava as a wolf shepherd. In only eight poems Popa has succeed
to artistically and in a suggestive way represent the deepest mythical layers of the
St Savas character. In doing this, Popa has built the Savas character sometimes as
an ambivalent and sometimes as the compound of the divine and heavenly virtues
and categories. The poem cycle Savin izvor represents one rounded and harmonious unity in which Popa has united all the elements of St. Savas poetic biography.

Summry / In the context of studying the poetry of historical drama this work tried
to establish a correlation between two artistic words, emphasizing that literature
functions in the same manner whether written or oral.The drama Kraljevi Marko
contributed to this assertion.Writing about Marko Kraljevi, the master of his destiny
Mihiz will go a step further, comparing the hypotheses which he made. He managed
to give a modern connotation to the characters of this play, to face them with a moral
doubt.The existing examples from moral literature using dramatic structure became
new artistic worlds, by it sense and meaning. Pushing the limits of lyrics, epics and
drama Mihiz describes a vicious man and his weakness about the possibility of own
choice and inevitability which makes this choice impossible, taking them to moral
aspiration and to moral code which is close to existentialism. The writer uses it to
create the stage where he will present a man who lives inside, crucified with moral
dilemmas. Bringing to the fore the matter of tragic fault Mihiz in the world of theatre
brought the current matters of moral integrity, the individuals at the enigma of history, creating a modern drama with an emphasized modern use of man.

Summary /In this paper we have analised social predisposition of female characters
in the following comedies of Jovan SterijaPopovic: Upstart, An Evil Woman and
Patriots. At the beginning of the paper we have discussed the position of women in
Serbian society. Then, we have tried to answer the question about Sterijas attitude
towards women and fashion. The central part of the paper has been devoted to the
analysis of female characters in these comedies. First, we have discussed Sterijas
most famous heroine Fema whom we have designatedas the image of women that
seeks noblesse. Then we have talked about Sarah who is to Fema, according to Sava
Andjelkovic (Andjelkovic 2003: 56), synonymous with noblesse, so we have regarded
her as such in the paper. Afterwards, we have analised the character of Sultana and
defined her as an evil woman and the character of Pela whom we have defined as a
submissive female figure. The last group of characters that have been analised in this
paper are Zelenicka, Milcika and Nancika. At the end of the paper we have tried
to analyze the actions of Sterijas characters from the aspect of feminist criticism.

Marija M. Kosti / THE PRESENCE OF PLATO`S PHAEDRUS IN MANN`S NOVELLA DEATH IN VENICE
Summary / This study examined the specific formal and semantic overlap in Platos
Phaedrus and Thomas Manns novella Death in Venice. In both works we find permeating ancient mythic patterns, personal aesthetic views of the author, the problem of
artistic creation, but also the problem of inspiration and beauty that are brought into
direct relationship with Eros. Eross nature, the power and choice that can be made
by the human soul are contemplated, and then conveying the artistic and aesthetic
approach that is presented to the reader in various ways as a result of various artistic
and literary practices of Plato and Mann.
Manns creative process is still, basically, artistic, while Platos is philosophical and
aesthetic, and therefore no less creative. Does this mean that it is art itself that gives
specific, velvet, richly, associative, and partially autonomous meaning to certain
thoughts, ideas and thematic structure of one part? Does it not require much greater
maieutic skill for interpretation of such work with a strong aesthetic groundwork?
And the response, which is a synthesis of the experience that reaches from the soul,
the thought that surely resides in the mind, as do all of the earthly lead by Eros in
the way of answering questions of art we believe so!

Summary / The research emphasizes on the conceptual structure of the short story
Distant fords by Ivan Davidkov, where classic flashback is transformed. By means
of ever cinematic approach, the memory of the childhood is restored on the principle
of the mosaic, where each frame-fragment is a visual touch in the whole history
of the past. Plot is not fragmented at all, it is even quite comprehensive in terms
of happening, conceptual explication as all individual fragments are assembled by
gradation into one another, provoked by sensory or external association. The narrative
line a secondary narrative story weaven into the main one affects both personal
stories of the narrator and of many other people.

Summary / The essay deals with the motif of grass in the work of a fairly obscure
Croatian poet Stanislav Preprek, who was from the region of Vojvodina. After a mandatory short biography, a short overview of his entire literary opus is given, especially
the poetic subcycles,as well as the poems in German.The subcycle about grass is
interpreted in greater detail since it significantly resembles Walt Whitmans Leaves
of Grass. The resemblance between the poets in pointed out as almost all poems of
the subcycle are examined in detail. Having done this, Prepreks prose work and other
poems about grass are interpreted. In the conclusion, we seek to establish a literary
frame for not only Prepreks opus, but his life as well, appealing in the process to the
literary public as well as the critics to discover the poet in question.
