The Family Pantry of Cape Cod distributed
over $24M worth of food to 3,688 different
‘once) households in 2014. There are special food
distributions. for Thanksgiving and Chrstmas/
Hanukkah. We receive food from donations (about
228,000 pounds) and the federally funded USDA
program and State funded MEFAP program both
of which are managed by the Greater Boston Food
| Bank. We supplement with cost-effective food
purchases

We are very grateful for strong community support
including individual donations which are the largest
single source of income. The Cape Cod Chronicle
has provided the Pantry with halfa milion dollars
with their Neighbor Helping Neighbor drive in
November and December.
Events that benefit the Pantry:
The Cape Cod Potters’ produce an incredibly
ereative Soup Bowls for Hunger event each Apri
which features a soup dinner and a wonderfl hand
crafted pottery bowl.
The members of the Allen Harbor Yacht Club
host an annual Thanks For Giving Dinner each
November which features a food drive and an
incredible dinner

annual Gala at the beautiful Wychmere Beach Club
‘on June 7th call the Pantry for tickets.
Come and find clothing, jewelry and houschold
treasures and all proceeds support the Pantry.
Second Glance is open year-round Tuesday through
Saturday from 10AM to 4PM and also Mondays
from June through October. All donated items should
be brought to the Pantry due to space limitations.

Each year our clients look forward to the incredibly
fresh produce grown in our on site garden which is,
‘managed entirely by volunteers. The garden sits on
land leased to us by the Town of Harwich and was
created by the generosity of many businesses and
individuals and a Champions in Action grant from
Citizens Bank, Fresh produce is one of the items
‘most requested by our clients and we are happy to
offer some fresh from our garden,

‘The Family Pantry of Cape Cod is a nonprofit
organization formed in 1989 to assist individuals and
families on Cape Cod in need of food and clothing,
‘The heart of the Pantry is the
425 plus regular volunteers
who provide these services
throughout the year since
hhunger never takes a vacation.
Donations are always used for
our food program unless the
donor specifies otherwise
The Family Pantry of Cape
Cod is the largest Pantry on Cape Cod that is open
to anyone in need without restrictions, geographic or
otherwise. The Family Pantry of Cape Cod serves as
leadership role with the Greater Boston Food Bank
by providing the use of our warehouse making it
possible for all Cape
agencies to access food
from the Greater Boston
Food Bank in Harwich
saving them the time
and expense of travel to
Boston.
