Subject: EDC (Practical)
Application of Light Emitting Diode (LED)
a) Test a given LED using DMM and CRO as component tester.
b) Draw the VI characteristics of RED LED and from the obtained VI-Curve choose appropriate
operating point. Design a LED circuit to work at your choosen operating point, if the supplied
voltage is 5V.
c) Deaign a dual LED circuit to operate at 5VDC.Observe the gradual change in colour from RED to
GREEN by changing current through the lines. Observ the current relation ship as color of LED
turns green from red.

Report:
a) Explain the function of LED.
b) Draw the input output characteristics of LED and obtain your Q point for working and show your
theoretical design to calculate the value of R series.
