Figure 1 represent the total national of kangaroos, quota and harvest for
16 years to the end of 1997. The total national population of kangaroos in
the graph is measured in units each of which equivalent to 1 million
kangaroos.
The population of kangaroos dropped gradually between 1981 and 1984
from 21 units to approximately 16 units. From this time onward, total
national population of kangaroos climbed dramatically in 1984 to 1986
from 16 units to 24 units. From 1986 until about 1992, total national
population of kangaroos increased minimally at about 24 units to 34 units.
In 1992 to 1995, total national population of kangaroos declined rapidly
from 34 units to 24 units. And is projected to reach about 24,5 units in the
year 1997. Furthermore, the forecasted is total national population of
kangaroos to remained constant in the future.
In contrast, the quota of kangaroos fell slowly from 2 units to about 1 units.
in 1981 to 1984. In 1984 to 1993, the quota rose minimally from about 1
units to 6 units. From this point onward, it projected dropped slowly until
stabilised around 4 units from the year 1997.
The harvest of kangaroos increased gradually in 1981 to 1982 from about
1 units to 2 units. From 1982 until about 1984, harvest dropped slowly
from 2 unit to 1,5 units. From this time onward, harvest projected
increased gradually from 1,5 units to 2,5 units in 1984 until about 1987
until remained constant around 2,5 units from the year 1997.
