    Tutorial Problem of Maximum Stress Theory

    Consider a [30/0]s laminate made from AS1/3501-6 material


    a. If this laminate is fabricated at 125 oC and cooled to room
    temperature of 25oC. Determine the thermal residual
    stresses in the laminate.
    b. For an applied loading of Nx only, determine the loading at
    which the first and third ply failure using the maximum
    stress theory.
