9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Press Release For Immediate Release Contact: Herb Lofy, 262-297-1546 or Quint Mueller, 262-644-5857 September 3, 2015 The Richfield Historical Society is sponsoring its 17th annual thresheree on Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Richfield Nature/Historical Park located at 1896 State Road 164, Richfield, WI 53076. This family-friendly event costs just $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. The thresheree celebrates agriculture of yesteryear and pays tribute to supporting occupations such as blacksmithing, log-sawing, shinglemaking, rope-making and timber-framing. Field threshing will be done using steam engines. Located near the threshing area, horses will be plowing the fields. Small engines of all kinds will be on display along with antique cars. The Red E tractor, which was manufactured locally, is featured this year. Each day an old tractor parade will be held at 11:30. Starting each day, a hearty pancake breakfast is available for $7.50 ($4.50 for children 6 and under) and includes sausages, eggs and pancakes. Special this year is the presentation of donor recognition bricks at the Lillicrapp Homestead House/Welcome Center site. The bricks make up the beautiful patio which acknowledges those who generously donated to the Mill Restoration Fund. This ceremony will be held at 1:30 each day. Be sure to see the restored Lillicrapp House/Welcome Center which graced the shores of Amy Belle Lake for well over 100 years. A general store display is set up for you to observe and volunteers will share information on the lakes of Richfield. Other activities include: pie contest, silent auction, good music, children's activities including a tour of the miller's house, auto restoration presented by Ross Obermeyer, tours of the Messer/Mayer Grist Mill and other buildings. Food options include burgers, brats, walking tacos, chicken and baked potatoes along with other vendors who offer ice cream and kettle korn. Those delicious pies from the pie contest will be offered for sale. The thresheree is hosted by the Richfield Historical Society and sponsored by Dr. Don & Janis Crego; E.H. Wolf & Sons, First National Bank of Hartford, Manitou Americas (Gehl); Rebecca Richardson/Curt Brewer (Baird); Oarsman Capital; Tom Daniels; Wissota Sand & Gravel.
