Subject: Visitor Visa Extension for My Parents
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am enclosing the application and the documents herewith for the extension of stay for
my parents who are currently in the U.S. on B-2 tourist visa. According to their current I94, their authorized stay expired on May 14, 2015. However, due to the massive
earthquake of 7.3 magnitude that struck Nepal on May 12, 2015 compelled them to
cancel their flight and were stranded here without the intent to stay longer. After the
scenario, I seek advice from friends and families, and they told me to wait until USCIS
declares Nepal as a designated country for TPS. However, its been more than a month,
and there is no memorandum regarding TPS from the USCIS, and upon telephonic
consultation with lawyer, I think applying for the extension would be the best alternative
at the moment.
Yet, I would be extremely delighted if you would extend the visa of my parents since
there is chaos all over the country as well as the constant aftershocks. I have attached all
the required documents regarding financial support. I hope the number one nation in the
world, a land of opportunity, will offer me a helping hand and let them stay here for few
more months.

Sincerely yours,
Sonam Tamang Lama
