    This study assessed water quality and identified pollution sources in plateau lakes in Yunnan, China. Water samples were collected from 16 lakes between July and September 2005 and were analyzed for various water quality indicators including pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus. The results showed that most lakes suffered from eutrophication due to agricultural and domestic pollution from nearby communities. Effective management strategies are needed to improve lake water quality.
