Ethnocentrism: to see ur culture is superior than another culture.
Xenophobia: fear of stranger (start when u was young from ur parent)
Stereotyping: putting individual into existing category
Cultural competency: understand other culture ( not to compare ur to another
culture)
Cultural pluralism: being able to adapt to different culture
Language usage (in the 1st and 2nd exam) the way we use language
High context cultures: highly care about what u think about me, indirect
language
Low context cultures: less caring about others think, direct language
American is a low context culture.
Most misunderstanding comes from high vs low context culture.
Nonverbal differences
Greetings: handshake, bow, change depend cultures, gender
Personal space: base on where u go
Touching: base on where u go
Facial expressions:
Eye contact: some culture valuate if u dont give eye contact
Posture: change on culture
