Zero conditionals describe habitual actions


or general laws of nature.

FIRST CONDITIONAL
If + present simple, will + infinitive

If you take medicine, you will feel better.

If we hurry, we may get there on time.

First conditionals refer to real condition


and its probable result.

SECOND CONDITIONAL
If + past simple, would + infinitive

If he apologized, I might forgive him.

If he had money, he would buy me a present.

unreal
situations with reference to the present.

THIRD CONDITIONAL
If + past perfect, would + have + past pariciple

Third conditionals describe a condition in


the past that didnt happen.

MIXED CONDITIONAL
1) If + past simple,would + have+ past participle

If I were more hardworking , I would have


finished my degree at university.

We use it to express that due to certain


present
conditions
something
already
happened in the past.

2) If + past perfect, would + infinitive

If we hadnt missed our flight, we would be


in Spain now.

We use it to express that if something had


been different in the past there would be a
present result.
