Dear Parents / Guardians,

We are very excited to have the opportunity to provide your child with an
exercise program in a positive, cooperative and fun-filled atmosphere here at Harry
Hoag Elementary School. The discipline of Physical Education will improve not only
the physical aspects of your childs well-being, but also his/her social, emotional and
intellectual development. Throughout your childs Physical Education experiences,
he/she will participate in vigorous movements, cooperation activities and challenges
in motor development, all stimulating creativity.
We hope you will take a moment to review this letter with your child. In doing
so, you and your child will have a better understanding as to our expectations of
each student throughout his/her Physical Education experience. Thank you for your
support in creating a healthy and physically active lifestyle for your child.
Sincerely,

Mr. Russom
Mrs. McCumber
Mrs. Fries

Appropriate P.E. Attire

For their safety, it will be necessary for your child to wear

sneakers, which fully cover their heel and entire foot,
with a sole no thicker than one inch.
All youngsters will need to wear comfortable clothing that
allows them to move freely (girls please try to wear pants or
shorts on P.E. days). Pants that are loose must have a belt.
Please consider dressing your child in his/her sneakers on
P.E. days or keep an extra pair of sneakers at school.
Frequently coming to class unprepared will result in a decrease of
the students Physical Education grade. Grades K-4 have
Physical Education every day, and Grades 5-6 have
Physical Education at least 2 times a week for 43 minutes
each class.
If your child is unable to participate in P.E. due to an illness or an
injury, a note from a physician / parent / guardian must be given
to the school health office. Thank you!
