Barazai is the biggest village of Union Council Malak Mala with a population of

nearly 16,000. The founder of this village was Umar Khan, who came from Ghazni,
Afghanistan. He had four sons: Qasim Khan, Magdod Khan, Mirza Khan and Kod Khan.
A large percentage of the population of Barazai have Pashtun roots. They are mo
stly descendants of the Musazai (Sarkani) and Alizai (Durrani) tribes. These peo
ple speak Hindko and Pashto, and they follow the Pashtunwali code of conduct. Ot
her tribes originated in Peshawar.
People from Barazai have emigrated abroad to the United Kingdom, United States a
nd Hong Kong.
Many people from Barazai work in the Merchant Navy of Pakistan.

Barazai has both girls' and boys' high schools. There are one Sofi Buzarag Almah
rof Baba Jee Sab which belong to Barazi and the sharen of Shaheed Baba are also
in the village of Barazai. Basically Barazai has 4 mohallahs from Start Maghdoza
i, Qasim Khail, Shaba Khel and Mula Khel but recently it contail Musa Khel, Mash
riqi Dhwok, Maghrabi Dhowk, Nawab Abad, School Banda and many more. Barazai cont
ains 25 Mosjid Post Offices. Barazai also has Islamic Daras Ghah for Girls. Ref
