This perennial creeping plant is indigenous to tropical regions in both continents.

This is a small herbaceous plant with palmately

nervedordissectedleavesandsimpleumbelsofsmall
flowersfoundthroughoutIndiafromtheHimalayasto
Capeof Comerin atthe altitudesupdo 2000ft above
sea-level.
It is particularly grown in the damp places of West
Bengal. The plant was known to the Sanskrit writers
ofveryremotetimes.Its properties being similar to
those of Herpestle Monniera (Brahmi). Bothplants
are regarded as a tonic, useful in the skin diseases,
nervoussystem,bloodandbraincells.
