Representation of youth

How do you think youth is represented?

They are represented as being loud, disruptive, provocative and judging. They could potentially get
troublesome as they talk about the head teacher.
They could also be rebellious; they insult each other to gain attention. Only few of them stick up for the
younger students. They wear coats over their uniform, dont wear their uniforms correctly- their ties are low
down and their top buttons are undone, shirts are also untucked. They talk about the teachers and judge
them. The younger students get picked on and the older students laugh at them. The younger students get
bullied so the older students can get popular or get attention. There is lots of name calling in this clip. They are
Patronising and think that they are superior: we run the school. They use lots of slang- innit uneducated.
There is only one anti-stereotype in this clip, he stands up for harry, he is also a role model for his little sister.
The role model is black, the media stereotypes black people as being in gangs and crime , this guy is not the
stereotypical black teen, this represents the years and years of wrong doing in his history; he is able to
recognise when wrong is happening and try to stop it.
