1.NODAL AND LINE REPRESENTATION OF THE GIVEN CHIP

PACAKGE:

2.FINAL MODEL:

MESHING OF THE CIRCLES I.E, SOLDIERING AREA :

CURVED PART MESHING ORIENTATION:

PROBLEM 2:

SEQUENTIAL STEPS FOLLOWED :

Material was created with name as Steel and MAT 1 card image was assigned.

Property was created with name as Steel and PSOLID card image was
assigned.
Component was created with name as Specimen and property was assigned
to the component.
2D mesh was done with the help of SPLINE command.
DRAG command was used to drag the 2D mesh

Load collector was created.

Load Step is defined, once the Load collector was created.

Once the FEA model is ready, then analysis was run using OptiStruct as
solver.
Result was Post Processed in Hyper view.

RESULT:
VON MISES STRESS AT THE CURVATURE

Maximum Von-Mises Stress = 9.159E+02 MPa

From the above diagram we can see that the Von-Mises stress are concentrated around the curved part of
the diagram. The maximum Von-Mises can be found in the center of the curved part. From this we can
conclude that, with the given geometry and the load conditions, this is the weakest part in the model and
experiences the maximum stress.
