Dear K-210 Families,

Welcome to K-210! We are thrilled to be your childs kindergarten teachers! This year,
your child will be in a Collaborative Team Teaching (CTT) otherwise known as
Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom with two teachers! Below you will find
answers to the most frequently asked questions:
What is a CTT/ICT classroom?
A CTT/ICT classroom is a general education classroom with two teachers. One teacher
has a general education certification and one teacher has a special education
certification (sometimes both!). Both teachers share the responsibility of teaching all of
the students so they are both the lead teachers. Think of it as two heads and one body!
Our class consists of both general education students and a few students with special
needs. All students work and play together throughout the day.
Why is co-teaching beneficial for my child?
Individualized attention:
Both teachers work together throughout the year to plan and adapt
instruction to fit each childs needs. Two teachers allow for greater
differentiation in instruction.

Smaller teacher to student ratio:

Because there are two teachers, we are able to divide the class into two
groups, pull small groups, take turns leading the class and helping
individual students.

Unique learning opportunities:

Children will learn to play and work cooperatively with students of various
abilities. They will learn to appreciate, understand, and make friends with
all students. Students really understand teamwork when they see their two
teachers working together happily.

Two is greater than one:

Two teachers equal two brains working together to help each student. Coteaching encourages two teachers to bounce ideas off each other in order
to deliver the strongest, most creative lessons.
