Students were asked to draw a picture related to the reading from class in order to represent an idea, character, setting, or event from the text. When sharing their drawing with the group, students should first show their picture without explanation and have others speculate on what it represents. After everyone shares their ideas, the student artist then provides context for their drawing by explaining what it means and where the idea came from.

It is your job to draw a picture related to the pages you read today in
Your picture can be specifically about todays reading or something
todays reading reminded you of (an idea, an event in your life, or a feeling). Your picture can be a sketch, cartoon, stick figure scene, diagram or flow chart. Some ideas that you could use for your drawing could be the following: -a character
-a problem -the setting
-an exciting part
-a surprise
-a prediction about what will happen next
Presentation Plan: When the Discussion Director invites you to participate, you should 1- show your picture without comment to others in your group and 2- ask them to speculate (wonder) what your picture means. After everyone has shared their ideas about your picture, you get the last word & you can tell them what your picture means, where your idea came from, or what the images in your picture represent to you.
