The Tanzania Universities entrepreneurship challenge, the yearly initiative aimed at

recognizing and supporting entrepreneurs and business leaders in university campuses
across the country, has launched its 2015 challenge with plans to introduce Tanzanian
student entrepreneurs to global opportunities.

This project is about recognizing and honoring innovative minds that will build million
dollar companies and shape the future of Tanzanian economy, its about encouraging
innovation, problem solving and risk taking says Victor Joseph who has run the project
for four years now. We are gradually building a culture of entrepreneurship and
innovation among university students in Tanzania, he added.

The project, sponsored by CRDB Bank, who have supported the project since 2012,
and The Global Entrepreneurs Organization, will review hundreds of student run
businesses across the country, connect these entrepreneurs with mentors and potential
investors, and finally fly one of these entrepreneurs to the Global Student Entrepreneurs
Award in Bangkok. This is a global event where student entrepreneurs from across the
world meet, interact, build networks and get to pitch their ideas to seasoned investors,
its a great opportunity for any young entrepreneur who wants to build a big company in
their Life Victor Said.

With increasing unemployment, it is important that we get young people to start thinking
of entrepreneurship as a career path and change their mindsets from a full job seeking
mentality to a job creating mentality. Recognizing and properly supporting those young

people who have shown initiative towards this path will help in inspiring even more
youth to become entrepreneurs
