Behavioral ethics is a new field of societal scientific research that seeks to
realize how people in reality act when confronted with ethical dilemmas. It
refers to behavior that is judged according to normally established norms of
behavior. The behavior approach enhances our sympathetic of how ethical
consciousness and norms are interpreted and how they manipulate decision
making and behavior. Improving our knowledge in this way will help to
enhance an ethical climate that can lead to sustainable and efficient
management. Here we propose that a study of behavioral ethics which
focuses on how people act as conflicting to how they should behave can
augmentation the traditional and normative approach to business ethics and
hence provide a more comprehensive account of existing ethical failures in
management. The standard approach to the study of ethics in business and
management has been a normative or regulatory approach which focuses on
what managers, recruits and public in general should do to act as honorably
responsible actors. This comes close to leads toward the rather invalid
termination that most business scandals must be the dependability of a few
bad apples. The emergence of behaviorist approach define the study of
systematic and predictable ways in which individuals make ethical decisions
and judge the ethical decisions of others that are at odds with intuition and
the benefits of other society. Behaviorist research into some surprising
aspects of intentional wrongdoing. Among other things this research show
remarkable extent to which individuals are likely to cross ethical boundaries
due to various environmental factors including but not limited to situational
pressure or the action of other individuals.
