The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

Plot
The caterpillar is born from an egg and is super hungry so goes looking for food. Each
day of the week be eats something different. He then builds a cocoon and becomes a butterfly.
Setting
The setting is not really defined in the book other than being on a tree.
Theme
There is not really a well-defined theme but there is an undertone of a theme of eating
healthy.
Characters

The only character in this story is the caterpillar which is a one dimensional character
who does not really have a large description.
Style
The style of the book is really good with great variation in the sentences and good use of
the illustrations to pair with the text.
Point of View
This book is written from an all knowing narrators point of view.
Reflections
I really loved this book and always have ever since I was little. I cant wait to read this to
my smaller grade students before talking about the days of the week.
