Hand out one pipe cleaner to each student and

that is on the powerpoint. Go through the shapes
powerpoint which will demonstrate: the polygon,
quadrilateral, square, triangle, rectangle,
parallelogram, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, and
octagon.

Give each group shape flash cards so they can


answer the shapes game as a group. Go to the
interactive website,
http://www.education.com/games/shapes-quiz/
and use it to assess the students knowledge by
having each group identify the answer by holding
up the flashcard.
Have students put away pipe cleaners and
flashcards.

*The time is merely a suggestion based on a 45-55 minute period of time (normally middle school and high school).
Elementary school schedule depends on the subject. ELA/Reading is normally no less than a 90 minute block of time.
