3. Nature of Event : Unit withdrawn to attend Water Wall tube leakage near soot Blower IR

4. Observations :

At 10:00 hrs feed water flow increased by 50 tones .also furnace found pressurised, tube
leakage voice
noticed at RHS water wall.
5. Analysis

Water wall tube near IR-26 found opened.

Leakage due to steam errosion.

6. Works carried out by maintenance section

Primary failure Tube no.T-2(LHS)

Preventive measure Tube T-1, T-2, T-3 cut & 2200 mm length new tubes welded.
Total no. of joints-6

7. Works carried out for the restoration by operation :

Boiler lighted up

8. Recommendations to avoid reoccurrence :

a) Short term Nil
b) Long term tube thickness survey near wall soot blowers will be carried out in coming
O/H and eroded tubes will be replaced in O/H.
