Boiler tripped on Furnace pressure Very High and TA set tripped on protection.

withdrawaI of coal mill AB, A side purging was completed (classifier outlet gate
closed] and B side purging was in progress.
Suddenly coal millAB got pressurized above 1.400 mmwc at both A & B side,

lurjrace qfe.ssure shgot up to +L29 mmwc & boiler tripped on furnace pressure very high protection.
5. RemedialAction / Work done:
After inspection, boiler lighted up at 02:55 Hrs on date 01./L2/20L3 and TA
set synchronized at 04:49 Hrs on date

7. Root Cause Analysis :

Prior to tripping of boiler: After cut in of coal mill cD, purging of coal mill AB
was in progress. when A side pA flow through
mill was stopped. coal millAB, mill inlet pressure shoot up 1431 mmwc& 1445
mmwc at A & B side respectively. ln next
millisecond furnace got pressurized all three'Furnace pressure high'switches got
operated (Transmitter value above+ 129
mmwc) and boiler tripped on furnace pressure very high protection. Furnace got
over pressurized

through Coal Mill AB.

coal mill, when purging of anv one side
-in progress there should be at least 30 tph PA cold air flow through mill in

long term: Letter has been send to B.H.E.L. Services, Nagpur & N.T.P.C. for further guidance.
