Unit withdrawn due to turbine shaft vaibration very high,(Turbine Brg./cv/rotor/bal)

5 A) Obseruations :-
Unit was running at 340 MW @ 22:L2 Hrs, TG set bearing and Shaft vibrations found increasing eventhough all
other parameters were normal. So as to reduce the vibrations load was reduced to 180 MW, but the vibrations
were found increasing.
As the vibration level were increasing continuously (HPT front shaft : 200 Microns), Turbine was hand tripped @
22:32 Hrs.

5 B) Remedial Action/work done :-

Boiler lighted up after found vibrations normal & synchronisation activities started.

6. Root Cause Analysis :-

Matter is being continuously conveyed & follow up to M/s BHEL after each incidence, for this matter is conveyed
for detailed analysis as per ref. CHNrIM-II/U2000301 dated zgl}tlz1t' & CHNfTM-filU7lOOO334 dated
30/0U2015. CE (TIC), Nagpur & M/s BHEL representative visited U-7 on 03.02.2015, collected vibrations reading,
report will be submitted after detailed analysis,
