Character Analysis

For this assignment you will choose one or two characters from any of the stories we have read
and write an analysis of them. You can choose characters from two different texts if you want.
Please use the following instructions/questions to complete your analysis:
Identify the most important/main characters and describe/analyze them (do not just give
a summary of what they do). Show their character traits through use of the text. Are they
round (fully developed) or flat (under developed)? Static (they dont change) or dynamic
(they do change)? Why would the author choose to make a character flat or static? What
purpose do they serve in the story? Is the character believable? Likable? Use the text to
support your opinion on these characters.
Remember, you are describing them, and then analyzing their PURPOSE in the story. WHY are
they there? You must use direct quotes/paraphrases to support your analysis with correct
parenthetical citations (Kinney 29). Please ask if you have any questions.
The Rough Draft will be due Monday, October 13th. The Final Draft will be due on
Wednesday, October 15th
