Milton Friedman
Economist
Milton Friedman is a very inspirational person to some economists. He persisted even
though others thought he would fail. People thought he wasnt a good fit for a government
economy job (Trouble 1). People were skeptical of his work (Trescott 4). He opposed
everyones theories of economics and created his own (Milton 1). These challenges were just
the beginning of his journey.
To overcome these challenges, some actions had to be taken. He received a Masters of
Arts and showed everyone that he could (Milton 1). He began to write his own books with
others to show people the greatness of economics (Milton 1). He was influenced by Homer
Jones and Arthur Burns to continue working in economics and show other people how they work
(Trescott 2). He taught workshops to show others the greatness of economics (Trescott 3).
These were just the beginning of his path to success.
He was able to succeed and show others that he could do the impossible. He was able to
win a Nobel Prize for Economics in 1976 for his theories and ideas about economics (Trescott 3).
He developed his own TV series based off of one of this books to share his knowledge with
others (Trescott 3). He published more than 20 books to share his findings (Milton 1). After

he finished school, he got a job with the U.S. government (Trescott 2). He is just one example of
a person who made a difference even though others thought he could never to it.
